All Roads Lead to The Williamsburg Sampler….
Most highway travelers reach Williamsburg via Interstate 64, route 60, or State Route 143, each major east-west highway… adequate off-street parking is available on-property. Commercial airline service is available from Newport News Williamsburg International Airport (PHF) (20 miles), Norfolk (ORF), and Richmond (RIC) Airports (both about 50miles) with all offering transportation and rental car service. The local Amtrak and bus line and services are reasonable in distance, walkable to the stout afoot travers packing lite, but transportation is also available as well.
The Williamsburg Sampler is perfectly situated on one of the main streets in our town, Jamestown Road. From our accommodations attractions and activities are easily accessible; it’s just an easy, flat, 3-block leg stretch to dining, drink, entertainment, quaint shopping, and the start of our Historic Area and literally one block from The College of William and Mary. For those of us who just have to drive, reasonable parking is readily available in the downtown area. The Williamsburg Sampler also benefits from its proximity to our local trolley route (2-block walk from pick-up spot) a friendly, knowledgeable, safe, and reasonable service for the local area. For hired cars, we recommend Uber or Lyft service. Cabs are safe, but a bit 3rd world. For our peddlers, bike stands are plentiful and safe. Most of our terrain is relatively flat, but if you find you need a little help maneuvering or to keep up, we have a local scooter service that will drop off rental vehicles at our location. Best of all, hop aboard one of our 18th century, beautiful and historically correct, carriages and take an enjoyable and regal ride as you inspect your subjects from the loft of the privileged (operated by Colonial Williamsburg, and only available in the historic area).
